As the land of teacher education programme Teachers Training Institution has a rich history before 1975. The Secondary Training school initially provided teacher training to local youths and promoting education in western Odisha. During that time, it played a vital role in spreading education and empowering teachers in primary education. Govt. ETEI, Balangir situated in the middle of the Balangir town. Before the approval from the NCTE, it was coming under the directorate of the BSE odisha.
